Christopher Baker received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. As a software developer, Mr. Baker has focused on Microsoft .NET Web Development and Microsoft SQL Server Database Architecture and Engineering. As a sports analyst, he has spent the past decade studying Game Strategy, Lineup Optimization, and Player Evaluation in Hockey and Basketball. His focus has been on understanding game strategy best practices by analyzing spatial tracking data in the NBA. In 2013, he founded Advanced Metrics with Stephen Shea. Advanced Metrics work has been utilized throughout NBA front offices in various capacities. In addition, Mr. Baker spent years working on a research and development project with an NHL franchise in the hopes of bringing similar results to the NHL. Advanced Metrics' latest book, Hockey Analytics: A Game-Changing Perspective, details the findings of an original study that calls into question many best practices currently employed in the NHL.
