Makoto Shibutani is a Japanese illustrator, professor, writer, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Shibutani was born in Tokyo, Japan, and grew up in Miki City, Hyogo, Japan. He studied art in Long Beach, California, and behavior analysis in Los Angeles, California. He has published 100 Stories of Social and Safety Awareness, The ABA Visual Language: Applied Behavior Analysis, The ABA Visual Glossary: Applied Behavior Analysis, All-in-One ABA Programming Guide: Applied Behavior Analysis, Momotaro, Coward Boo, etc. Some of his books are translated into English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Ukrainian, and Japanese. As a behavior analyst, he has provided behavioral strategy seminars to teachers and parents in the United States, China, and Japan.
