Aviva A. Orenstein

Aviva Orenstein is a Professor of Law and Val Nolan Fellow at the Indiana University Maurer School, where she teaches Evidence and Civil Procedure. In addition to Acing Evidence she is the coauthor of the hornbook, Evidence Law (with Roger Park, Steven Goldberg, and the late David Leonard). She received her J.D. from Cornell and clerked for the late Honorable Edward R. Becker on the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Her scholarly interests concern the intersection of evidence law and culture. Orenstein is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Indiana, and has worked on various pro bono projects, involving children's rights and family law. Orenstein was a humor columnist and lectures on Jewish humor. Although there are a few sly remarks in Acing Evidence, it is intended to be more helpful than entertaining.
