I became interested in becoming a mortician at the age of 12 when my father committed suicide. While making arrangements for my father, we learned the Funeral Director was an old high school girlfriend. She was able to share stories about him from when he was a teenager. She made us laugh and I will never forget the relief I felt when I walked out the door. It is amazing how good a laugh can feel after being immersed in sadness. I like to continue this tradition in my day-to-day life as a Funeral Director. You better believe after all these years in the industry, I have some stories to tell! "Over Our Dead Bodies" is my chance to shed light on the industry and hopefully get a smile out of you too.
