Bernard T. Punzalan is the founder and principal researcher and collaborator of the Chamorro Roots Genealogy Project at http://www.chamorroroots.com. This project is the genesis of transcribing and writing genealogy books for the Chamorro people indigenous to the Mariana Islands. He is the fourth of eight children born to Eustaquio Anderson Punzalan (Manggåfan Che'/Pansi) and Rosita Leon Guerrero Cruz (Manggåfan Matias/Jai/Mafongfong) of Tamuning. He is married to Josephine Marie Manibusan-Punzalan and has three sons: Brandon, Bryant and Bernard II. Bernard graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Guam with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and possesses a Masters of Public Administration from Bellevue University, Nebraska. Bernard is currently a Grants Manager & Technology Transfer Specialist at the Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. He oversees and manages medical research grants and Cooperative Research and Development Agreements for the Army's Western Regional Medical Command. He is also a contributing author on Guampedia.com
