Monica Consigliere

I was born on 8th of November 1967 in Rapallo (Genoa) Italy. I lived my first 28 years of my life in Genoa where I got a degree in Economics and a diploma as chartered accountant, but for sure this was not my vocation. Since I was 12 I had the secret dream of becoming a writer and I started writing a diary since I was 15 until I was 30. At 23 I wrote a fairytale and my first two short stories. In 1996 I moved to the South of France where I got different jobs in a bank and in a small company. It is there that in 1999 I decided, in the spare moments of my office work, to continue the novel that I had started in 1997 which would become "Immaginando Budapest". In 2001 I started writing "Carmen del Adagio" while I was in Granada to learn Spanish. Both these novels were published with two small Italian editors in 2002 and 2004. In 2002 I left my office job to become a teacher of the Italian language for businessmen in Monaco. On 25th of September 2004 my son Nicholas was born and this magical event changed my life for the better, as I have always wanted to be a mother. In 2011 I left my job as a teacher and I decided at last to study one of the things I like most: music. This passion for music started even earlier than that of writing, in fact as a child I loved singing, dancing and playing a bit of piano, but this love remained inside of me as I grew older and it only revealed itself clearly to me when I came to France and started having singing lessons. I have just got my musicology diploma at the University of Nice and I have just translated one of my novels into English, my next project is writing a new one, probably based on the wonderful experience of my musicology studies.

In 2018 I collected all my short stories and two new ones in a new book " Racconti per ogni stagione" and I translated two of them in French, published also here with the title "Petites histoires à l'heure du thé". At present I have many ongoing little projects and activities, I do bnb, I organize concerts at my place once a month and I have just started a small business of handcraft, but writing is my main passion, so I still have in my few new ideas of short stories.
