Darlene Christopher is a Senior Knowledge and Learning Officer at the World Bank Group in Washington DC. She has been designing and delivering virtual training programs for global audiences for over ten years. She is a winner of a 2010 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Silver award for the project, "Connecting Talent Champions Online to Build Global Talent at IFC." Darlene produces elearning products for synchronous and asynchronous environments and is a skilled facilitator for both live web events and threaded discussion boards. She also has a diverse technology background holding web product management positions in Silicon Valley at Infoseek, Disney Internet Group and 3Com. Darlene holds a Master’s degree in International Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of California, Davis.
Darlene was the Advisory Chair for the 2013 ASTD TechKnowledge Conference. She was the speaker coach for the 2010 ICE Virtual Conference and the virtual facilitator for the 2011 TechKnowledge Virtual Conference. She served on the board for the Metro DC Chapter of ASTD from 2008-2011 as the Director of Virtual Programs.
Darlene is a regular speaker at international training conferences. She has authored numerous articles about virtual classrooms and is a contributing author to Road Tested, the 2012 Pfeiffer Annual Training, Facilitating in the Global Virtual Classroom and SCORE! for Webinar Training, Super Closers, Openers, Revisiters, Energizers, Volume 5.
Her first book, The Successful Virtual Classroom, How to Design and Facilitate Interactive and Engaging Live Online Learning will be published in September, 2014.
