Mr. Brian Gary Forbes

My name is Brian Forbes and I have been a woodworker and acoustic guitar maker for over fifteen years. In that time I have made nearly thirty instruments, hundreds of wooden rings, dozens of long stem tobacco pipes, and more special projects that I can count. I also taught furniture repair and re-finishing for one of the nation's largest furniture companies. In all that time the one constant has been the enjoyment of helping other people succeed in woodworking. Between my YouTube videos, my websites, and the dozens of emails I receive each week, I have enjoyed the rare opportunity to be involved in woodworking projects all around the world, where people use my methods and advice to help them create something beautiful. This enjoyment lead me to begin writing books on woodworking and acoustic guitar making, and has given me the peace of mind in knowing that I have discovered my life's work. Teaching others about woodworking and making things by hand is my true passion, and I hope that resonates with my readers in every book I write. Due to the overwhelming response I have received over the Tips and Tricks section in my acoustic guitar making book, I have decided to write a single volume comprised entirely of woodworking and guitar making tips. They will cover each part of the guitar, as well as finishing, finish repair, safety, and the guitar as a whole. I see this as a continuation of the first book, and will offer it at a lower price once complete and published. I am also working on my step by step acoustic guitar making book, and have been spending time getting this one perfect before releasing it. There are quite a few excellent step by step books out there already, and I want to be sure that I am covering everything thoroughly and completely so that I can hope to earn a place on the shelf next to one of those books.
