关于作者

Ted: Two of my great interests in life have come together in these two books that I have written. I love to create buildings, and I love to create art. I have designed and built 2 homes, 2 studios, a lake cottage, several sheds and now this greenhouse. I love to combine aesthetics with practicality in a building. When we decided to build a greenhouse, we searched all over for some plans that would work for us. When we could not find any, I decided to design the building myself, hoping that it would function. I tried to include passive solar aspects, correct lighting and ventilation and a pleasing aesthetic in the building. We were truly astounded at the abundance and health of the plants that we could grow, so we decided to share our experience with this book. As a lifetime artist, student of art, and teacher of art, I am pleased to be able to present a distillation of my work to the public. I have had a fascination with art since I was a boy, and pursued this interest in front of all others. What I am most interested in is to help people to: Take their art to a deeper level. To paint like themselves in their own personal signature style. I have taught art classes at the University level in Oregon and Maine, for over 20 years, with a faithful following of students. My interest in art is working with the process as well as working with the questions that have no answers, such as: What is art? What is talent? Why are the arts revered in the way that they are? What can be taught in art, and what is unteachable? When can one call oneself an artist? What does a life in the arts look like? What makes a painting worthwhile? I lived, made pottery, painted, taught, and raised a family on the coast of Maine for most of my adult life. I now live in Taos, New Mexico, and maintain a home and connections in Maine. I am fully enjoying the novelty, the light and the great open spaces of the west, while still cherishing the connections from the East. tedkeller77@gmail.com Peggy: I love to take care of things; children, plants, sick people - really anything vulnerable and in need of help. My career was as an RN, working mostly in Home Health and Hospice. I have raised 2 kids, and am helping with 4 grandchildren. I have always, even as a little girl, loved to grow a garden. I feel that the plants are my friends. The fascination of watching a garden grow from a small handful of seeds never ceases to amaze and inspire me. peggyhamill40@gmail.com
