Rilla Alexander is an Australian-born, Los Angeles based graphic designer, illustrator and picture book maker whose work has appeared on everything from toys and tea cups to busses and buildings. Her characters dance across Museo del Prado's ceramics and stationery, populate Swiss Credit Cards and sleep on the walls of a Copenhagen hotel (where she replaced the bed with a tent). She has exhibited, spoken at design conferences, and led workshops all over the world including the Pictoplasma Academy in Berlin, where she teaches character design. Rilla has illustrated books she have written (Her Idea, The Best Book in the World, The New Rooster, You Rule!) and ones she has not (Jane Yolen’s A Bear Sat on my Porch Today, Lemony Snicket’s Swarm of Bees). She has also made board book series (Touchwords, Motor Mix) and a set of pocket sized books for preschoolers (Hippo Park Pals). For more information visit byrilla.com
