Lu Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Temple University. She joined Temple in 2011 following a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Indiana University at the Research Center for Chinese Politics & Business. She received a M.A. in Sociology from University of Warwick (UK) in 2003 and her Ph.D. in 2010 from the Department of Sociology at the Johns Hopkins University. In 2011 she won the Thomas A. Kochan and Stephen R. Sleigh Best Dissertation Award from the Labor and Employment Relations Association, and the Best Dissertation Prize from the journal Labor History. Her research concentrates on globalization, labor and labor movements, and the political economy of development in China.
