Lisa Francesca learned how to customize and conduct weddings from her father, a nondenominational minister, and she was ordained through the Universal Life Church. For more than a dozen years she officiated at weddings, memorials, and other sacred ceremonies. Lisa was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine and wrote The Wedding Officiant's Guide, the essential handbook for officiants. Lisa then wrote a biography. Helen and the Masters: A Portrait of a California Mystic features her fiercely independent and spirited great-grandmother who raised a family in California's Sacramento Delta region. Research is underway about another ancestor who edited a nationally popular art magazine in the Gilded Age. Lisa earned her BA in English (with a minor in comparative religion) from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MFA in Creative Writing from San Jose State.
