Nanacy Zidonis and Marie Soderberg began as Equine Acupressure over 30 years ago which later became Tallgrass. They studied acupressure and opened an acupressure practice working with competitive riders. The riders asked if they could work on their horses because they were the real athletes. This kicked off all that has come to be these last many years. Nancy and Marie studied even more Chinese Medicine, worked with a veterinarian to analyze video of horses in action, and began to work directly with horses. Rather than just having a practice, Nancy realized that writing a manual and teaching courses would effectively spread the knowledge and skills needed to offer more people and horses the benefits of acupressure. In 1998, Amy Snow joined forces. She was excited by all the work Nancy and Marie had done and wanted to support their efforts. The name changed to Tallgrass Publishers, LLC. and Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute to include small animal acupressure as well as equine acupressure. This was the platform to launch more books, manuals, charts, videos and a 300+ hour comprehensive acupressure training program. During the next 20 years, Nancy and Amy created acupressure learning tools and offered hands-on and online courses and materials worldwide. Tallgrass' reputation for outstanding acupressure texts and in-depth courses became known as the leading acupressure resource. In 2019, it was time to support the Tallgrass mission of making acupressure even more accessible to animals and people everywhere. Now there are instructors in many countries offering the Tallgrass curriculum of hands-on and online courses. Amy and Nancy have continued to build a treasure trove of acupressure-massage resources to the worldwide growth of Tallgrass. As Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Resources, there are more e-learning opportunities for horses, dogs, and cats, new charts, articles, blogs, and other acupressure-massage learning tools. Nancy and Amy are doing what they love by creating and exploring new resources for people wanting to care for their animals using this ancient healing art and science.
