K. Joseph Hurt, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Hurt received MD and PhD (Neuroscience) degrees from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he also obtained his residency training in Gynecology and Obstetrics. He completed a Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship at the University of Colorado and directs the basic/translational Preterm Labor Research Laboratory in the Division of Reproductive Sciences. He cares for high risk obstetric patients in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and and teaches medical students and residents as an attending on Labor & Delivery. He is also the Clinical Associate Program Director for the CU Medical Scientist Training Program. Dr. Hurt is enthusiastic about his work and research in OB-Gyn and Perinatology and dedicated to making the science, medicine, and surgery of OB-Gyn more accessible and evidence-based for students, residents, and other women's health providers.
