I love art and design! I'm always coming up with new design ideas and daydreaming about my next project, painting or pattern. I have taught various classes for many years, and have been an artist and designer since childhood. I feel strongly that painting and creating are some of the most basic of human impulses, and love seeing what happens with my next idea. About my patterns: most of my crochet patterns are short ebooks which show you how to create small projects which are able to be finished in one sitting. That's because I can't stand to have the guilt which comes with an unfinished project which stares at me from a basket in the corner. I like to fill my crochet patterns with tons of step-by-step photos of the project, and often I add a crochet diagram which uses standard crochet symbols. At times I even add links to helpful youtube videos which walk you through a step which could be a sticking point. I like to think that these reader-friendly bits make my patterns something special. Of course, my patterns always have a list of materials, notes, the instructions themselves, and a key for terms and abbreviations. You'll also find that my patterns have a fair amount of English in them. Yes, I do use abbreviations for things like dc and sc (double crochet and single crochet). But I try to make my patterns crystal clear with just a tiny bit of redundancy, and with a slightly more conversational approach to crochet instructions. I don't want anyone to wonder what I mean when I tell you how to work the next round of crochet. My art books are similar: many are short demonstrations for a small project or painting, and a few are larger works which explore a particular genre of painting. I've been painting for many decades and have gradually evolved from a realistic watercolor artist to an impressionist acrylic artist all the way to abstract artist (and back, at times). All of the ways of painting bring me joy and I hope my readers can gain some inspiration and knowledge from reading about them.
