Justin Goldman's career in professional hockey started in 2003 with the arrival of the Colorado Eagles and the Central Hockey League to northern Colorado. Since then, he has gone on to work at all levels of pro and junior-level hockey as a coach, mentor, scout, author, educator, director, and humanitarian. Through a passionate and endless pursuit for creativity and learning, Goldman has authored multiple self-published books on goaltending. He is best known for his various roles since founding The Goalie Guild, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and supporting the goalie community, in January of 2009. That includes his role as an NHL Emergency Backup Goalie (EBUG) for the Colorado Avalanche, a role he has carried since 2017. Over the years, Justin has worked for many of the world's top pro hockey organizations. This includes NHL.com (writer), USA Hockey (scout, consultant), and NetWork Goaltending (director of operations). He has also been an independent goalie consultant for multiple NHL teams and goalie coaches. As a coach and assistant, he has aided many of the top training and development programs like Mitch Korn Goalie Camps, Eli Wilson Goaltending, Elite Goaltending, AXIS Talent Management, FinnGoalie Training, GoaliePro, and more. In August of 2019, Goldman continued his foray into nonprofit development by joining MindSpark Learning, an education nonprofit based in Colorado. As the Director of Athletic Partnerships, Goldman oversees their sports education program, which is dedicated to the holistic growth and development of coaches, athletes, organizations, and their communities. Leaning on the latest science behind creativity, learning design, and social-emotional development, Goldman continues to operate and develop ideas that lead to a better and healthier future for athletes of all ages and levels.
