Bridget Hodder

Bridget Hodder began her career in archaeology, translating ancient documents in order to tell the stories of civilizations from the distant past. Then she realized she had her own stories to tell. Her latest work, THE THING ABOUT STARS, appears in the Hanukkah anthology THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, edited by Henry Herz, from Albert Whitman & Co, released in September, 2024. Her first picture book, THE PROMISE, co-authored with Fawzia Gilani-Williams, was released in 2023 from Lerner Books/ Kar-Ben and became one of the Bank Street Books "Best Books of the Year". THE BUTTON BOX, a Middle Grade time travel with Muslim and Jewish representation, released in 2022 from Lerner Books - Kar Ben. It was co-authored with Fawzia Gilani-Williams and received a Kirkus Star. THE RAT PRINCE, a Middle Grade retelling of Cinderella, published by Macmillan/ Farrar, Straus & Giroux/ Margaret Ferguson Books, was her first novel.
