Bertier Luyt

Bertier Luyt is a professionnal maker-entrepreneur, self educated, father of two kids. After a career in music publishing, in the early 2000's he turned his career toward interior design and designing professional spaces, an activity for which he started using SketchUp a 3D modelling software. Bertier Luyt’s expertise was recognized in 2010 when he gave a conference at Google Sketchup 3D Basecamp about "3D modeling for digital manufacturing", at a time when the first 3D printers aimed at the public made their appearance in the United States. After attending his first Maker Faire in New York in 2011, he launched leFabShop, a digital fabrication studio, early 2012 in France. Early works include 3D modelling the Palace of Versailles for Google Cultural Institute. Since 2013, le FabShop has been leading the 3D printing revolution in France, focusing on design, materials, programming for the future of making things. It's work has been featured in international press from Wired to Time Magazine, and licensed by Google for Chromebook 2015 commercial. Bertier is a speaker at different conferences such as MakerCon, TEDx or Trimble Dimension. His favorite topics are digital manufacturing, self-empowerment and entrepreneurship. Bertier is the producer for Maker Faire in France.
