Dr. John W. Schwieter, BA, MSEd, MBA, PhD, is Professor of Psychology, Linguistics, and Spanish at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada where he is the Director of Bilingualism Matters @ Laurier and the Language Acquisition, Multilingualism, and Cognition Lab. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Linguistics at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His research interests include: cognitive and neuroscientific approaches to multilingualism and language acquisition; translation and cognition; and second language teaching and learning. He is the Executive Editor of the “Bilingual Processing and Acquisition” series (John Benjamins Publishing), Editor-in-Chief of Ampersand: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Language Sciences and Bilingualism (Elsevier), Co-Editor of the "Cambridge Elements in Second Language Acquisition" series (Cambridge University Press).
