Animal rescue has always been a part of Tonya's life. For Tonya's fifth birthday, her family went to the local dog shelter and adopted Toby, a collie-golden-mutt. Tonya and Toby quickly became best friends and he will always hold a special place in Tonya's heart. Tonya's pet career started in an animal shelter, and she quickly realized she wanted to do her part in preventing animals from arriving there in the first place, that's when she started her dog training journey. Tonya has authored several books on dog behavior, puppy training, and even a few dog cookbooks! Her newest book about to hit the shelves is a children's book whose main character is a representation of her current dog, Dexter.
