Sarah Risha has been in the education field and enjoying it with unabating enthusiasm and dedication, for well over 25 years and continuing. She was born and raised in Kuwait, where she earned her BA in English language from Kuwait University. After permanently moving to the United Stated, she pursued and earned Master’s in Educational Technology from Northern Arizona University, and later completed her Ph.D. in Curriculum Instructions from Arizona State University. She has been teaching Arabic Language and Culture among other subjects at ASU since 2008. Her first book Education and Curricular Perspectives in the Q'uran was published in 2014. Her second book Arabic For Beginners is intended for people who are interested in learning the Arabic language. The book is designed to help learners converse with native speakers, in class and abroad if applicable. The objectives in each lesson introduces the learners to what to expect to learn. Arabic For Beginners uses communicative approach to teach Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) that is used in all 22 Arabic countries and taught at most schools. It is highly recommended for anyone interested in learning the language. It focuses on all four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. It is also worth mentioning that Sarah is an educator with mastery of both Arabic and American cultures, with decades of firsthand social and professional expertise. Her passion is family and helping students succeed and excel. Contributing to education and academia is an enduring pursuit.
