Poet, pilot, and photographer Lee Alloway is a citizen of the world. Born in Asia, raised On The Road and in Europe, life has taken him to every U.S. state and more than one hundred countries. He has worked as a musician, a NASA intern, a dish washer, a parking lot manager, a hospital orderly, a career military pilot, an advisor to the Hungarian Ministry of Defense, and a civilian in the Pentagon. He is the author of three books of poetry for children and three of poetry for adults. His "Wazzat Bug?" field guide to spiders and insects of Northern Virginia is the foundation of the "Wazzat" series, including "Wazzat Lep?" (butterflies and moths), and "Wazzat Beetle?" (well, beetles, of course.)
