E.B. Wheeler is the author of over a dozen books of history, historical fiction, and historical fantasy, including Whitney Award finalists Born to Treason and A Proper Dragon and Whitney Award winner Cruel Magic. She also writes short stories, essays, magazine articles, and scripts for educational software programs, and has won several awards for her short work, including the Segullah Award for Excellence in Creative Nonfiction. The League of Utah Writers named her the Writer of the Year in 2016. She has a B.A. in history with an English minor from BYU and graduate degrees in history and landscape architecture from Utah State University. In addition to writing, she sometimes teaches history and consults about historic preservation, and she loves gardening, folk music, fiber arts, reading, and exploring the Intermountain West with her husband and kids.
