I grew up in Northern New Jersey, and as a 6th grader, I learned to love sewing garments in Home Economics. My patchwork pillow I made in this class is still in my possession. One of my most favorite things at the time was hand embroidery. Everything I could put my hands on got embroidered with brightly colored threads. Graduating college in 1987, I moved to Connecticut. Marrying in 1989 to my husband Rod, I worked a "normal" job. Fast forward to 1993, I was finishing my Master's Degree, working and pregnant with our first child. At that time, I picked up a sewing machine and began to sew baby clothes for our new baby. At my husband's encouragement, I took a quilting class. I actually didn't like that class. A second class was taken, a different instructor, and I was in love with quilting! In 2000, I started my Long Arm Quilting business, Canton Village Quilt Works, quilting for customers for 12 years. In 2007, I began a quilt blog. In my 9th year of business, I opened an online quilt shop. Shortly thereafter, designing quilts for magazines and fabric companies became a joy for me. Loving paper piecing, I became a Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor and began to travel throughout the country teaching, lecturing, and showing quilts. Now I am also a Craftsy.com teacher. Find me there teaching online classes. Getting to teach, design, and run my quilt shop is my passion. Please visit me at www.cvquiltworks.com to see what I am up to in the quilting world!
