Early Career
Leaving home at the young age of 16, he joined the US Army as a Specialist and later on became a Federal Agent. He also worked in technology enterprise sales for the last 18 years of his career.
Discovery by CBS
While roller-skating in Santa Monica, he was discovered by the TV network CBS™ longtime casting DIrector Lynn Spillmen, to become part of the 22nd season 2011 of Survivor called Redemption Island. He also made a second appearance in the show's 26th season 2013, Survivor: Caramoan Fans vs. Favorites. "It's all pretty heady stuff, but I'm never content just to be satisfied. It's not in me. I always look to engage the fans, too. They're really what it's all about," said Sheppard in a recent interview. On Survivor Redemption Island, Jeff Probst, Executive Producer, and Host credited Phillip with creating a legendary and iconic character in "The Specialist".
Associations and Achievements
Phillip is the only Survivor to have collaborated on a fictional novel about his persona "The Specialist" while still a contestant on the show. He is also an author, and Associated Publisher at NeworldReview.com™ and he wrote 2 columns L.A. Conversations and A Man About Town. Currently, he spends his time writing a second novel and supporting a number of charities such as Give Kids the World™ and the Reality Rally™ fund-raising program.
Family Life
Phillip is one of 12 siblings, which includes his twin sister. He is a single parent and currently lives with his cats Bella, Tigger and his dog named Spike. The only thing that he wants now more than ever is to entertain and to bring happiness to his supporters.
