Michael W. Dong was born in Shanghai and raised in Hong Kong. He holds a BS in Chemistry from Brooklyn College and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the City U. of New York. He was Senior Scientist at Genentech, research fellow at Purdue Pharma, senior staff scientist at Perkin-Elmer, research chemist at Celanese, and post-doctoral fellow at Naylor-Dana Institute. He is currently a consultant in HPLC, CMC, and pharmaceutical analysis and resides in Connecticut, USA. He has ~30 years of experience in HPLC and pharmaceutical analysis, having worked for an instrument and pharmaceutical companies in various function for 10+ years. He teaches short courses in HPLC/UHPLC, method development, drug quality, and drug development process at national meetings and for private clients. He authored 130+ publications in chromatography and 4 books including a best-seller book in HPLC. He serves on the editorial advisory boards of LCGC North America, and Chinese American Chromatography Associate. He has been a columnist for LCGC North America since 2013.
