Author and journalist John Bisney covered the space program for more than 30 years for CNN, the Discovery Science Channel, RKO, and Sirius/XM Radio. He witnessed more than 60 space shuttle launches and was one of the few broadcasters live at the launch site for the 1986 Challenger disaster. Growing up in Florida, Bisney saw his first rocket launch on Cocoa Beach in 1966. He attended the launches of Apollo 11-13, meeting President Nixon at the Apollo 12 launch; and covered the Apollo 16-17, Skylab 1-4, and ASTP liftoffs from the LC-39 Press Site. He is an associate member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
