Linda Merrill is an award-winning interior designer based in Massachusetts. Her passion for creating beautiful spaces began early on when she was allowed to select the finish color of her first “big girl” bedroom set at the age of six. Linda is gifted musician and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance on the Flute. In addition to her music, she is an accomplished seamstress and served as costume designer and set decorator for several stage productions in high school and college. A well-regarded financial career in Public Television followed, however, she craved a more creative outlet for her unique set of skills. She enrolled at the prestigious Boston Architectural College and received a Certificate in Decorative Arts in 2001. She opened her firm, originally called Chameleon Interiors, in early 2002. Her blog ::Surroundings:: offers her unique views on wide ranging aspects of the built environment from architecture, photographic tours, product reviews, design inspirations, special events and even set decor! Linda is a sought after writer and voice in the field of interior design and not only publishes her own popular blog, but has been a contributing writer to other media outlets as well. She produced as very popular podcast series called The Skirted Roundtable from 2009-2013 and her first book “How to Start a Home-Based Interior Design Business", published by Taylor Trade Publishing, was released in May, 2015.
