Dr. Neiders is the founder of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy for Stuttering (REBTS) and has personally recovered from stuttering. He has been successful in helping clients in freeing themselves from the shackles of stuttering through the application of Stoic philosophy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Positive Psychology and Artificial Intelligence. Always with a sense of humor, joy for living, and optimistic outlook on life, he drew on his collaboration with Albert Ellis, the founder of REBT, to author the highly successful book From Stuttering to Fluency: Manage Your Emotions and Live More Fully, along with nine academic papers on the topic. Currently, Dr. Neiders is in the process of completing his third book, Free Yourself from the Shackles of Stuttering, a step-by-step approach for the adult stutterer who wishes to discard non-functional mindsets and unhealthy feelings that propagate stuttering. He is a member of the International Fluency Association, International Stuttering Association, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a member of SID4, the Special Interest Group on Fluency and Fluency Disorders. He has been a member of the National Stuttering Association for over 50 years and was the local leader of the Seattle Chapter in the 1970s. Dr. Neiders provides interventions (and financial aid) for stuttering, both in person and via telehealth, with the goals of minimizing the frequency and severity of stuttering so his clients can lead productive and emotionally fulfilling lives, while pursuing careers of their choice.
