DAVID DEVINE was raised and educated in Arizona, and later attended the Oakbrook College of Law. Favorite lawyer joke: What's black & brown and looks good on a lawyer? (a Doberman). He moved his family to Oregon in 1990 and has since "crossed the Columbia River" to reside in Washington state with his wife of over 40 years and 7 of their sons & daughters. David's career path centered upon either selling or appraising commercial and agricultural real estate, as well as being a Chemeketa Community College adjunct instructor in Salem, Oregon. He has authored, co-authored, and edited textbooks replete with technical subject matter. Growing Food God's Way was both a gift and mission from his Creator. While researching and interviewing Paul Gautschi for the book, David and his family put into practice what he learned and observed by covering their 80x80 foot garden with the help of family and friends. Though it was a new challenge, it was worth the effort to benefit the family AND to be able to look folks in the eye and say: "This is the way!" It has deepened him and he knows it will deepen others that are open to the truth. Lottery President is David's debut fiction book. Originally, in 2014, he saw it as a screenplay for a movie starring Robin Williams. But when the actor committed suicide in August of that year, the project seemed to die as well. Motivated by the 2016 US election debacle and having read James A. Michener's 1969 expose of the Electoral College (Presidential Lottery), David was motivated to share the lottery concept in an eBook rather than a screenplay. However, if you ask him, he will tell you who he'd like to see on screen as his two main characters. Back in 2016...WAY before the 2020 US presidential election, Lottery President indicated there would be a white president (spoiler alert!) and black female VP. Also, the book has Pres. Donald Trump NOT attending the Inauguration. Since then, both have come to pass - lending some prophetic.Orwellian elemants to this political dystopian story.
