Robert "Rob" Redding Jr.

Rob Redding, often called "the voice of the voiceless" and "the prophet of rage," is celebrated by his listeners and readers as "America's Independent Voice." As the publisher of Redding News Review and the host of "Redding News Review Unrestricted," Redding has made a significant impact on American media. His dedication is evident in his tireless work ethic, spending over six days a week for nearly half a decade, producing more than 420 episodes across all 50 states via SiriusXM Satellite Radio and syndication, totaling over 3,600 hours of broadcasting. Redding's influence extends beyond broadcasting. He is a prolific author and artist, having written 15 consecutive best-selling books and released two best-selling albums. His book "Unquotable," released on September 1, 2023 is his sixth consecutive No. 1 book and ninth overall No. 1 out of 15 books. This work features over a dozen poems and numerous epigrams, with the New York Black Star News praising it for its powerful illustrations and insightful commentary on race, class, politics, and sexuality. Another significant work by Redding is "Africa: How It Can Save the World," his fifth consecutive No. 1 book and eighth overall No. 1 out of 14 books. Released exclusively to his subscribers on February 14, 2023, and available for free on Amazom from March 1, the book presents Africa as a crucial solution to a world on the brink of nuclear war. The book highlights an African-based philosophy of the soul and discusses the implications of denying humanity's true origin. In 2019, Redding released "The Professor: Witnessing White Power," which explores how gay interracial relationships and encounters have shaped Black power. The book debuted at No. 1 on "New Releases in LGBT Literary Criticism" and "New Releases in Gay & Lesbian Literary Criticism." It details the sex lives of notable figures like Jean-Michel Basquiat, James Baldwin, Marvin Gaye, Richard Pryor, and Malcolm X, examining power exchanges between white men and their impact on the Black community. Redding's autobiography, "Out Loud," was released in 2017, along with "The Brook," which debuted at No. 2 on "Amazon Hot New Releases Gay and Lesbian Biographies and Memoirs." His first fiction book, "Sinister Citizen," also released in 2017, deals with President Trump's America and reached the Top 30 on "Amazon Hot New Releases LGBT Short Reads." "Why Black Lives Matter: How Borigination Explains How to Get Police and Whites to Treat Blacks Like People," released in 2015, topped multiple Amazon charts. The book discusses the philosophy of Borigination and its implications for racial justice, featuring a foreword by Dr. Lewis R. Gordon. Redding's earlier works, including "Hired Hatred: Why politicians and the political prejudices they tout are mutually exclusive from good government" (2005); "Unthinkable: Poems, Philosophies and Paintings" (2014); "Not a Nonviolent Negro: How I Survived Obama" (2013); "Where's the Change?: Why Neither Obama, nor the GOP Can Solve America's Problems" (2012); “Disrupter: Pathway to Political Independence” (2012); Resurrection: A Historical Anthology of two Forgotten African American Philosophers (2012) featuring a foreword by Dr. Lewis R. Gordon, also achieved significant success. His albums, "Not a Nonviolent Negro" and "Unleash the Whip!," further showcase his diverse talents and commitment to addressing social issues through various media. Holding a Master's in Fine Art from Pratt Institute and a Master's in Communication Studies from Marshall University, Redding is also a professor in New York City. His thesis, "Black Voices, White Power: Members of the Black Press Make Meaning of Media Hegemony," was completed while serving as a teaching assistant at Marshall and appears in the Journal of Black Studies. He is also the creator of the "Resolution of Risk," first used at the International Public Debate Association's National Tournament and published in the organization's peer-reviewed journal.
