Qualified from architecture school in Dublin in 1996 I started working for architecture firms but this turned out to be quite an unrewarding experience. I eventually started my own business in 2005 I discovered my niche. I was introduced to (Google) SketchUp around the same time and realised that this was a game-changer. In 2008 I founded Viewsion Virtual Environments along with a business partner Alan O'Brien. Together we delivered Google Certified training sessions throughout Ireland, but soon realised that customers were not well served by generalised SketchUp training courses. What was needed was industry specific training. In 2013 I released the world's first ever book on the topic of SketchUp for Construction Documents . Trimble's release of SketchUp 2019 finally reflected the importance of SketchUp as a construction documentation tool, and I released the popular "Construction Documents Using SketchUp Pro 2020".
