There's a lot of confusing information around about ASD, and it's hard for parents to know what to do. My book contains the science and hands-on protocols that I wish had been handed to me when my son was born. Please note: I do not recommend that you stop your or your child's prescription medications. Once he or she feels better, that is a conversation between you and the prescribing doctors. Nothing in this book treats, cures or prevents autism and my book is not the "Anti-Prescription". I do NOT recommend the use of bleach, and I am not anti-vaccine, although I am cautious about them and recommend spacing them out. The conventional medical approach to ASD tends to be prescription medications that reduce the symptoms of underlying medical problems, but don't address the medical problems themselves. Doctors tend to aim their "treatment" at difficult behaviors that are often the result of these ignored medical conditions. Worse yet, many medications have side effects that contribute to and even amplify the underlying health challenges on the spectrum. Simple natural approaches work best at my center. Children with ASD may struggle with GI and immune dysfunction, acid reflux, inflammation, oxidative stress and much more. These factors may dull their cognition, contribute to irritability or even aggression, disrupt their sleep and bowel patterns, and make it really hard to sit still and pay attention in school. Every day, we are asking our ASD children to do their best while they feel their worst. It's time to help them feel better, find their "sweet spot" on the autism spectrum, and reach their full potential. I include lots of cases from my center, and have a bonus Online Action Plan with a year of ideas. These protocols work with conventional and alternative approaches, and I've thrown in a dash of humor to make it fun! See my center's Facebook page, Autism Health, for more tips and humor.
