Nate Pollak

Nate is the active CEO, and General Manager of The American. Over the past 5 years, Nate has overseen all administration, HR, operations, finance, marketing, technology, and business development at The American. He also launched all catering and event operations. Nate has worked tirelessly since opening day to develop, learn and understand every position in the restaurant, and every aspect of his business. He boasts that he is the only team member at The American that can perform any job: from dishwasher to kitchen manager, to HR Director and CEO! He is proud that The American has been able to grow organically, with zero debt, and retain loyal employees and build strong management since opening day. Before opening The American, Nate’s professional experience included over six years in management consulting, market research, and finance. He also spent several of his younger years working as a server, bar manager, restaurant host and 2-time chili cook-off champion. He holds a double Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA, Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors, in Economics and Classics.
