Peter Saveliev is a professor of mathematics at Marshall University, Huntington WV, USA. After a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he has devoted the next 25 years to teaching and writing mathematics. He has also been involved in research in algebraic topology and several other fields. His non-academic projects include: digital image analysis, automated fingerprint identification, and image matching for missile navigation/guidance.
