Sherri Maret

Sherri Maret (veteran teacher/librarian) is a member of the Choctaw Nation. Both of her maternal great-grandmothers were listed on the Choctaw rolls. The Cloud Artist (in English/Choctaw) was written to celebrate her Choctaw heritage. Her Choctaw family resided in Oklahoma. She presently lives in the state of Washington. She was born in Texas and spent most of her school years there until her family moved to New Mexico. Her different pursuits after that led her to living and exploring Wyoming, Arizona, and Pennsylvania. She received a B.A. degree in English from the College of Santa Fe in NM and moved to Arizona where she was a Language Arts teacher. She attended Arizona State University to pursue her dream of becoming a library media specialist. She moved to Pennsylvania and accepted a position as a library media specialist. She received a M.S. degree in Education from Wilkes University in PA. After twenty years in the education field, she resigned to focus on her passion which is writing for children. She hopes teachers will enjoy the follow-up activities for her books which she provides on her website. When she isn't doing school/library presentations or writing for a curriculum company, she substitutes in her local school district.
