Nikrad Shahnavaz MD

Born in Iran, Dr. Nikrad Shahnavaz is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Digestive Diseases, Department of Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. After obtaining is M.D. from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2002, he worked in the United Kingdom for one year as a senior house officer in Medicine. Following that, he moved to the United States where he completed his internal medicine residency and then gastroenterology fellowship at Emory University. Dr. Shahnavaz is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and is currently a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society. Clinically, Dr. Shahnavaz sees patients with different gastrointestinal disorders at the Emory Clinic, performs general endoscopic procedures, and has a special interest in GI motility disorders and endoscopic bariatric procedures. Academically, Dr. Shahnavaz has published multiple scientific articles and abstracts, presented in several national and international conferences, and been actively involved in the training of medical students, internal medicine residents and gastroenterology fellows.
