Jatin Shankar is a 20 years old Indian College student interested in Physics and Mathematics. Jatin wrote this book because he is also interested in the meaning of life and philosophy, and questions like why we exist… Another reason for writing this book was because Jatin, as a teenager, came across some books on Celibacy from Ramakrishna Mission, an institute of monks and scholars, where his school would take children to participate in many cultural competitions every winter. It was there that Jatin won the books about Brahmacharya as prize in a competition (Jatin is a good artist!). Although Jatin was impressed by the idea of Brahmacharya, being a scientific minded kid and an atheist (in the sense that he believes that there is not enough ‘data’ as yet to settle the question about the existence of god), he decided to find some scientific evidence on the Philosophy of Celibacy before believing in it. He found the clues in the form of thousands of Biological scholarly articles. Jatin admits that he was surprised in how clearly Biology pointed towards the concept of Brahmacharya, and decided to write a book to let others know about this.
