I'm an ex soldier who also spent a number of years in the Middle East working with an Evangelical Christian relief and development organisation. I never really thought that I'd be a writer. When I joined the Army I was told that my English grammar wasn't good enough for the unit I really wanted to join (The Royal Military Police) so I ended up working with Helicopters and in a unit where even the troopers had a university education (I didn't even leave school with a decent qualification) I reckon that a few years in the Army, and then going to the Middle East working with a relief and development group kind of gives a unique perspective on things. I reckon it's reflected in my writing. An ability to 'look behind what's happening and give a unique perspective reflected in the stories I write. So far, most of the stories are the military action adventure type of stories that people enjoy, but there are a couple that raise some challenging questions to think about.
