I've wanted to write for many years. Along with playing the piano, publishing a book became an ambition as 1989 ticked over into 1990. The piano remains a challenge that I have tried and managed to get a few recognizable sounds from, yet I remain a mediocre pianist. Until May 2016, I had failed colossally in my attempt to get a book published—not least because I hadn't actually written one. The digital publishing disruption has opened up opportunities previously undreamed of, so I took advantage of my Appalachian Trail thru-hike in 2014 to record and publish my stories. I've been touched by the positive reviews of the books and intend to find more subjects to write about.
