Hi, I'm Karyn, author of "Cuckoo Clock Secrets in Switzerland" and "A Clash of Swords in Scotland" as well as the Adventure Books - Italy Adventure, New Zealand Adventure, Singapore Adventure and more! As a child, I loved adventure - and I loved to travel. I was very blessed to be able to travel with my family many times before finishing school - to Switzerland, England, Scotland, Jersey, Canada, Namibia, Swaziland and around the United States. My father always believed that one of the best ways to LEARN was to see the world, so he had no qualms about taking me out of school for a few weeks while we traveled. The world that this opened up for me was to forever instill an appreciation for the diversity of the people and places we visited and a belief that we learn best from life experiences. We learn both character and facts. We discover how big the world is and how small we are. We experience so much more than we would staying within our own culture and our own country. We see how much the world needs Jesus! There are many places in the world that I have not visited and with five young children it will be a while before I am able to do so. But between books and the internet, the world remains open. I wanted to bring some of my special memories to life for my children and this desire inspired my first book: Cuckoo Clock Secrets in Switzerland. Switzerland was a place that I visited the most as a child. I remember beautiful snow-capped mountains, cows wandering through the streets and colorful window boxes on quaint chalets. Being a homeschooling family, we love to play "travel". We set up an "airplane" in our lounge and with Daddy as the pilot, we fly off to a faraway land. We experience its beauty, discover its landmarks and taste its culture through the eyes of the internet and living books. We wanted to share that experience with you... and so the CASE OF ADVENTURE travel series was born. I hope the adventure for you and your children is as rich as it has been for us.
