R. Emery is a British Emmy Award–winning writer and producer and an international singer/songwriter. Pursuit of the Golden Lily was inspired by the real wartime diary of her father who was a POW of the Japanese in WWII. Like her protagonist, she visited all the places listed in her father’s diary, retracing his steps throughout Southeast Asia. Also like her heroine, Emery discovered untold truths about the Golden Lily operation that both Japanese and US officials try to cover up to this day. Born in Kuala Lumpur and raised in Britain (in Sherwood Forest), R. Emery now lives in Canada. This is her first novel.
