Shirley Jackson Award and two-time World Fantasy Award winner, Dr. Danel Olson is the conceiver and contributing editor of a six volume original fiction print series, _Exotic Gothic_ (for Canada's Ash-Tree Press and England's PS Publishing). His other edited works in print include _21st Century Gothic: Great Gothic Fiction Since 2000_ (Scarecrow Press) and _The Exorcist: Studies in the Horror Film_, _Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining: Studies in the Horror Film_, and _Guillermo del Toro's 'The Devil's Backbone' and 'Pan's Labyrinth': Studies in the Horror Film_ (the latter two finalists for the Bram Stoker Award, with Centipede Press publishing all three).
The book with Director del Toro features art never published before, along with new interviews with cast and crew, all timed to coincide with the traveling exhibition of del Toro's props and artifacts of imagination, "At Home with Monsters," beginning at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and closing at two museums of Mexico.
Professor Olson's most recent work is a collection of the complete short fiction and select criticism of Gothicist Patrick McGrath from 1987-2017 called _Writing Madness_ (Centipede Press), a Stoker Award Finalist and World Fantasy Award Winner which Michael Dirda in _The Washington Post_ calls "sumptuous."
