Mr. Baird works include both historical fiction and pure history. His family-based books include “The Story Teller”, based on his Irish family, “Unexpected Journeys”, based on his English ancestors, and his newest, “A Coal Miner’s Family”, based on his family beginning in Scotland. Other historical fiction works include two RMS Titanic themed works, “RMS Carpathia - The Triumph and Tragedy of the Titanic Rescue Ship”, the story of the incredible, but short life, of the Royal Mail Ship Carpathia, “Captain EJ Smith: Life after Titanic”, which explores the idea that if he somehow survived, how would he come to terms with what happened to the Titanic and what is Smith's ultimate fate?
A compilation of his father’s letters written home during WW2 titled “Dear Rita”, and “Andersonville: An American Tragedy”, a history of the notorious Civil War Prison Camp of Andersonville, Georgia that took 13,000 lives in only 14 months, are his non-fiction works.
