Dr. Katie Kelly is a former elementary teacher and literacy coach and currently serves as an associate professor and coordinator of the Literacy Graduate Program at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Katie’s research interests include digital literacy, critical literacy, writing for social justice, and teacher education. She is widely published in several peer-reviewed journals including The Reading Teacher, Voices from the Middle, and the Journal of Language and Literacy Education. She has co-authored four books: Critical Comprehension (Corwin), Reading to Make a Difference (Heinemann), Smuggling Writing: Strategies that Get Students to Write Every Day, in Every Content Area (3-12) was published (Corwin) and From Pencils to Podcasts: Digital Tools to Transform K-12 Literacy Practices (Solution Tree).
