Mary is an artist from Oshkosh,Wisconsin. Sewing has been a part of her life since she was a child growing up in a small Midwestern farming community. After thirty-five years of instructing art in the Kaukauna Area Public Schools, Mary retired from teaching and started designing “paper piece” patterns for quilters. Her love for fibers and all things tactile continues to dominate her life, as she now has time to sew and create every day. Her farming background becomes evident in her subject matter, predominantly animals and nature. Her designs tend to be a bit on the “wonky” side, perhaps a nod from all those years working with children’s art. Besides sewing and pattern designing, Mary enjoys solving puzzles. What better medium to work in than paper piecing!
Mary has 6 books published with C&T Publishing, has been featured in Quiltmaker, Quilting, and McCall's Quilts magazines and sells her patterns through Brewer Pattern Distributors, Annie's Patterns, and Missouri Star Quilts. Mary also sells her many paper pieced patterns on Etsy to customers around the world.
