Tressie McMillan Cottom

Dr. Tressie McMillan Cottom is an award-winning author, researcher, educator, cultural critic, and 2020 MacArthur "Genius" Fellow. She is internationally recognized for the urgency and depth of her incisive analysis of technology, higher education, class, race, and gender. She is the author of Lower Ed (2017), critically acclaimed for its analysis of for-profit colleges and social inequality and THICK: And Other Essays (2019), a 2019 National Book Award Finalist in Non-Fiction.
