Suzanne E. Hiller has been involved in the field of education for three decades as a practitioner, professor, researcher, and writer. Her affiliations include George Mason University, Wingate University, and Hood College, as an instructor of educational psychology, research methods, program evaluation, and preservice teaching. Currently, she serves as the Executive Director of the Blue Swallow Farm Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to fostering student STEM career motivation through authentic experiences in the natural world. Notably, she worked as the Teacher Naturalist through the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History during which time she developed curricula with natural specimens as well as oversaw a specimen loan program for instructional purposes. Her research interests center on STEM career motivation, particularly in citizen science and outdoor classroom contexts. Suzanne E. Hiller has authored books, book chapters, and peer reviewed journals on self-regulation, motivation, metacognition, and research methods.
