He has more than 25 years of experience as an educator in the disciplines of music, visual arts, pedagogy and andragogy. He also has more than 15 years of experience in distance education and educational technology. He has a Doctorate in Curriculum and Learning Environments with a specialty in Educational Technology and is certified as a Virtual Educator. He also holds two master's degrees in education, one in educational administration and supervision and the other in fine arts teaching, in addition to holding various licenses as a teacher, facilitator and school principal in Puerto Rico. His experiences range from designer, painter, draftsman, musician, educator, lecturer, workshop facilitator, contractor and consultant. He has been a teacher at the primary and secondary levels and a professor at private and public universities.
As a teacher he has created and facilitated face-to-face, hybrid and distance courses. He has created and managed a variety of teacher training proposals and projects. As an administrator, he is the developer of the first Distance Education Resource Center of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, of which he is the director. As director of the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, he managed, with great success, the development of the first offer of short distance courses with national and international participants. It offers training to teachers and professors on teaching, integration of the arts in educational processes, creativity, the process of integrating technologies as a tool in teaching and learning processes, as well as the best practices of distance education. He has presented the results of his research at national and international forums on education. He developed the Multi Strategic Model for Effective Online Teaching, which is used at the University where he works, for the creation of distance courses.
