I'm an artist and illustrator living in Maine. I suppose calling myself an "author" is a little disingenuous. I do love making books, usually with the help of a super talented writer. My first two books "Plotted"from Zest Books, and "Cinemaps" out this fall from Quirk Books(!), are both books of illustrated maps. "Plotted" is based on great work of literature, and "Cinemaps" is based on mapping great movies. While I spend a lot of my time as a freelance illustrator creating things for publications like Sports Illustrated or the New York Times, much of my time in the past decade has been spent mapping narratives of some sort. I love being able to paint or draw an entire story: shaping it into a single image and re-presenting it to the viewer. They allow you to hold an entire story in your hands. I hope you enjoy them.
